Privacy Policy

Last updated August 6, 2026

This site collects one thing: what you type into the contact form. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or tracking scripts. This page explains what happens to the information you send, and how to get it back or have it deleted.

Who this is

Jesse Media is a cinematography practice operated by Jesse Rostotski in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Jesse Media is responsible for the personal information described below and is the point of contact for any question about it.

What is collected

The contact form on this site asks for four things, and it is the only place on the site that collects anything about you:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • The type of project you are asking about.
  • Whatever you write in the project details field.

There are no accounts, no logins, and no payments on this site, so none of that information exists here.

Server logs

This site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify records standard technical logs when a page is requested, which can include your IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for. Those logs are used to run and secure the site. They are not combined with contact form submissions and are not used to build a profile of you.

What is not collected

This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics package, no advertising pixels, and no third party tracking scripts. Fonts are served from this site rather than from an outside provider, so simply reading a page does not report your visit to anyone else. Links to Instagram are ordinary links, not embeds, so nothing loads from Instagram unless you choose to follow one.

Why it is collected, and your consent

The information you send through the contact form is used to reply to you, to prepare a quote, and to plan a shoot if you go ahead. It is not used for anything else. By sending the form you consent to it being used that way. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking, subject to any records that have to be kept for legal or tax reasons.

You will not be added to a mailing list. Jesse Media does not send marketing email to people who have only made an enquiry.

Where it is stored, and storage outside Canada

Form submissions are handled by Netlify Forms and are stored on Netlify's infrastructure, which is located in the United States. This means your information is processed outside Canada and, while it is there, is subject to the laws of the United States, including lawful access requests by United States authorities. Submissions are also forwarded to Jesse Media by email so they can be answered.

If you would rather not have your details stored outside Canada, contact Jesse Media through Instagram instead of using the form.

Who it is shared with

Your information is not sold, rented, or traded, and it is not shared for anyone else's marketing. It is disclosed only to Netlify as the service provider that runs the form and the hosting, and where disclosure is required by law.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not turn into a project are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterward, then deleted. Where a project goes ahead, the contact details become part of the business records for that job and are kept as long as tax and business record keeping require.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask to see the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected if it is wrong, and ask for it to be deleted. You can also ask how it has been used and who it has been given to.

To make any of those requests, use the contact form and say what you are asking for. Requests are answered within 30 days. You may be asked to confirm your identity first, so that information is not handed to the wrong person.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how a request was handled, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, for matters under Alberta law, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Children

This site is aimed at people commissioning film work and is not directed at children. Jesse Media does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent information through this site, get in touch and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here and the date at the top is updated. Material changes to how existing information is used will not be applied without consent.
